Let's dance: Promoting Sexual Health through Music & the Caribbean Nights Series

POSTED BY ONE CONDOMS ON NOVEMBER 30, 2017

POSTED BY ONE CONDOMS ON NOVEMBER 30, 2017

The heart of ONE's mission is to help support existing and upcoming artists, as we partner together to promote sexual health in creative ways. That's why our team at ONE® partnered with Salli Squitieri for the Safer Sex Campaign effort as part of the Caribbean Nights Series, which has been integrated into performing artists tours, fitness programs and theaters.

Salli Squitieri is the founder of The Caribbean Nights Series and she represents an array of Caribbean Artists with artist development, bookings, management and promotions she has been involved in in various capacities within the music industry for 45 years.
The Caribbean Nights Series proudly presents both up and coming and renowned artists.

As part of Salli’s Music Series held at the Kraine Theater in NYC, she has founded and implemented a Caribbean Nights Segment as a means to create a new forum enabling Caribbean (and neighboring) voices and music to be heard. Not only are the artists presented, but the series also celebrates the richness and beauty of each artist’s culture. The Caribbean Night Series is a multimedia event that includes a video/slide presentation of the artist’s homeland, sometimes a supporting performer, and an interview with the artists, full performance, and free door prize drawings and after the show, Meet and Greet with artists. The events are in an intimate up close and personal theater setting.

Caribbean Nights Series Brings Safer Sex Education Through Music

POSTED BY ONE CONDOMS ON NOVEMBER 15, 2018

ONE® is proud to support and partner with artists of all kinds to inspire sexual health advocacy. The Caribbean Nights Series is an incredible forum and multimedia event enabling Caribbean Voices and Music to be heard. The Series has brought in talent who stormed the stage and shook the house from Trinidad, Grenada, St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), Barbados, Montserrat, Haiti, Belize, Honduras, and more. Each artist also promotes sexual health through condom distribution at the events!

As part of the Series, each show includes a video presentation of the featured artist's homeland, special announcements, an interview with the artist, performances, after show Free Door Prize drawings, and a meet and greet.

The most recent event was held October 12th, 2018, with the Caribbean Nights Series presenting a unique and eclectic evening of Reggae, Jazz, R&B, Rap and Dance. It was a non-stop night of smokin' hot performances with artists including Lady Loe, Let's Get it Entertainment, Lori Nebo and DJ Nukid. Repeat performers have included, but are not limited to, the founding artists MaddZart (SVG) and Wayne Commissiong (SVG), followed by Hymm Legendary (SVG), Panchan (Honduras), Smax Music (Haiti), Alex Colon (Belize), Owusu Slater (SVG), James Lovell (SVG), Grey Man (Trinidad), Autarchii (Jamaica) and so many more.

Bringing together the artists is Salli Squitieri's Productions, which also incorporated a "Safe Sex Campaign” as part of the Series. The campaign focused on a message of ”Have Fun, Be Safe Be, Protected," a message our team at ONE was excited to partner with. Each show is infused with fun and unique ways to distribute ONE products via skits, comedy, stage gatherings of artists, photo shoots, prizes and 'toss outs' to audience.

We love seeing this creative vision bring safer sex education and messaging through music. Thank you to all the amazing artists and for Salli for creating this incredible campaign!

The “MaddZart Hands on Initiative” (MHI) is a nonprofit organization actively providing human and other resources towards disaster relief and charitable, social causes throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines and its extended community.”

MaddZart started the MHI because he wanted direct hands on Involvement participating in the work that would make a difference as opposed to merely making a donation or giving a performance which is the normal routine. MaddZart instead wants to physically address and make an impact on the causes that he takes on. For MaddZart, getting to meet, work with and share common stories with those who would be impacted in a positive way and seeing the common ground rather than the differences, is rewarding to him.
*And now to add to this, there is more exciting news: MaddZart and Salli Squitieri Butterfield have just signed agreement with "VPAL Music, a division of VP Records" for distribution of his music under his own label/business of Fete King Music. As opposed to being on only 125 music platforms this will now place him on over 600 platforms internationally.

It was in 1991 when Julius, would go beyond mere village talent, when he performed on a track named "The Future Belongs to Me" with David Rudder. The song instantly became an anthem among T&T youth of that era who were facing a rising drug crisis. It also gained international appeal and was recognized by then First Lady, Hillary Clinton, who would use it as the theme for her drug-free campaign in colleges and high schools across the United States.
